Background
Built on *boomer* — ironic given the two generations' usual rhetorical opposition. The 2020s pandemic meaning (relating to Zoom video calls) is coincidental and adds a second portmanteau that isn't historically the origin.
Contemporary (2000–)
Faster coinage, faster canonisation. Brexit and podcast both reached the OED within a decade of first use — historically rapid. Social media has made visibility, not invention, the rate-limiting step.
