Professional words for “appreciate”

Two senses of "appreciate" — both with upgrades.

"Appreciate" covers gratitude and understanding. For thanks, "value" and "recognise" are cleaner. For understanding, "grasp" and "acknowledge" are sharper. In emails, "thank" is almost always better than "appreciate."
